How to Create Product Photos with AI

Tips on making the most realistic AI-generated product images

I’m going to show you how you can use AI to generate incredible-looking images of your product.

Most people who have tried to use AI to generate images of their product fail miserably.

The problem is not AI, but that they don’t know how to use it properly.

How to Make the Best-Looking AI-Generated Product Images

Step 1:

The first thing you need to do is train your own custom AI model on images of your product.

I explain how to do that here.

Note: You need to do this if you want the images to look realistic. If you don’t have your own custom model you can’t make these images:

The first image has the toque with purple lighting. The black hat looks slightly purple and you can see the light shining on the top right side of the hat. Look at the shadows. Even if you got AI to generate that backdrop, you couldn’t just slide your own cut-out image of your toque in there because the lighting and shading would look fake.

The second image shows snow on the toque and shows the fabric of the toque flexing and taking a different shape at the top of her head. The logo is on an angle. You could never make this with Canva or Photoshop unless you first train a custom model.

Step 2:

You can use ChatGPT to help you create unique prompts for product.

Here is an example of a flat-lay image I created with the help of ChatGPT and Cartario. This image is great for Instagram.

Step 3:

Think about unique lighting shots and camera angles (again, ChatGPT can help you make prompts for this)

Look at these examples:

Step 4:

Think outside the box. Instead of just using a model or the product itself, it is a good idea to show things like the behind-the-scenes shots. Look at this one, of a model wearing our toque, but instead of just wearing it, you see her getting ready for the photo shoot.

All of the tips I gave are helpful for making awesome product images with AI.
